Most foreign language learning is comprised of things in the classroom. Grammar, vocabulary, speaking, reading, writing... it's all in a day's work. However, that isn't the entirety of language learning. Cultural activities are just as important.
Our current Petanque set has suffered many casualties. Over the years, we have lost or broken balls in the sets, and at this time we have no remaining sets.
It is such a mood booster to the students (and myself) to be able to go outside on a nice spring day and learn about this French game. It is also a great incentive to use for students doing well in the classroom. Many students request to play this game often but we have not been able to in the past few years due to the lack of supplies. I'd love to get 10 sets so each student can play correctly and not just in pairs sharing one or two balls.
