Our district uses several online learning programs on a daily basis to supplement our curriculum. These online programs are tailored to the individual needs and abilities of students. I feel that with the availability of tablets in the classroom they would get more exposure to these programs and in return make better strides in their education. In addition to providing practice, many of these programs provide differentiation and intervention when a child is having a difficult time with a particular skill or concept in the classroom. In addition to being a great intervention tool, my classroom may be the only exposure to the world of technology many of these students have. I feel that it is imperative that, in a world built around being "plugged" in, students are taught to navigate the tools of this world.
