Our school is in Elgin, Illinois. O'Neal serves five hundred forty students in kindergarten through sixth grade. 92% of our students are living at or below the poverty line, which diminishes their abilities to engage in extracurricular activities not associated with school. At our school we strive to support the whole child, with social emotional needs, academically, and with their own personal interests.
Music education is essential for our students to develop all three of our target areas. As you know, music can be therapeutic, enhances literacy and mathematics and brings out talents in students, which motivates them in a multitude of ways.
