My diverse students learn at different paces. We have laptops, desktops, Chromebooks, and iPads. All running simultaneously. What we don't have are headsets. So my room sounds like the playground at recess. My students miss details and information because of the chatter. If each student had their own headset, then proper learning would go on everyday.
Headsets would mean the difference between focused learning and part time learning with distractions.
There is enough going on in a 9 years old's life that they don't need noisy unfocused reading time.
Our school district was forced to make cuts necessary to fund our teachers and schools. Unfortunately, that means some supplies get eliminated, having enough headsets being part of that.
