Not only do middle school students tend to live in an all about me world, but also the daily lives they live can shelter them from what's happening in the world around them. My students and I are fortunate to be a part of a wonderful district and community. However, I would like for them to experience the world outside of their daily bubble.
I want my students to realize the fight for equality isn't a thing of the past, but something that still continues today. By reading I am Malala, my students will experience what life was like for Malala Yousafzaim, a young Pakistani girl that fought for her right to be educated just a few years ago.
