This classroom rug will be the meeting space for several community-building activities and learning opportunities.
Each day, my class has a classroom meeting that gives every child a voice to ask questions, share concerns, or tell a story. On Fridays, we celebrate each and every child doing an activity called "Pull and Praise" in which every student gives and receives a compliment.
This space will also be the area in which whole-group learning occurs before independent practice takes place.
Fostering a classroom community is a huge part of molding young minds into the bright young learners they are destined to be.
