My students work with several online programs to help with reading and math. We use programs such as Achieve3000, Epic, RazKids, Front Row, and Lexia Core5. Several of these programs provide the students with the ability of having the material read to them for better understanding, while other programs require headphones to actually complete the lesson online.
If my students had individual headphones, I feel that they would be more successful and engaged in learning through these programs. Without headphones our classroom is a little noisy and it is often hard to concentrate.
My students attend a Title I School where 100% of the students receive free breakfast/lunch and have very little resources at home to help support their learning. Therefore, they are unable to purchase their own headphones.
