How do we get students to be more engaged in their learning? We live in a technology-driven society where more people are becoming dependent on technology in school and the job force. So, why not have technological tools available to students to help them reach their full potential in the classroom and beyond? Ideally, I would love to have enough computers in my classroom so that I could integrate technology into my daily lesson plans, but every little bit I can use computers with them would help. Computers give teachers a way to make the content they are teaching more engaging. Also, more specifically for my classroom, students would be able to research topics for projects, learn proper essay formatting and practice keyboarding skills while typing essays, practice editing and revision skills, submit projects electronically, create other types of projects (like PowerPoint), communicate with peers, complete daily assignments, work on test preparation, and so much more. Technology is something students will use in high school and beyond. I would love to have the opportunity to prepare them in my classroom with the technological skills they will need for success in the career they choose.
