The anticipated vision of this project is to introduce my students to alternative energy resources and how the power of the sun and wind can provide these.
Our school recently installed a wind turbine and solar panel within our outdoor classroom. My students think they look "really cool" but do not understand their purpose. The solar windmills will engage my students in various disciplines of STEAM to help them understand their function. They will work with fifth grade peers to complete this project. The students will experience meaningful research using both multi-media and literature based resources.
