My project is for a set of six Chromebooks and licensing equipped with access to our new Benchmark Advanced curriculum. By donating to my "Technology and Beyond" project you are helping my first graders improve their reading skills.
Our new reading program is aligned with Common Core State Standards, incorporates higher level questioning strategies, and integrates fifty percent fiction with fifty percent non-fiction text reading. This program is supported with a wealth of online materials that my class is only able to access one student at a time.
Stories are interactive, so students can read, listen to, take notes, and highlight right onto the online text. This allows my students great practice for the state test they will take as third graders.
With a set of six Chromebooks students will be able to access more books at their "Just Right" level. Supporting these young readers will help increase graduation rates and their chances of being successful productive members of society.
My goal is to keep "all" students engaged and challenged. With the use of Chromebooks my students now and in the future will have equal opportunities to improve their reading and technology skills. With your donation you are helping to prepare this generation for college and career readiness.
Thank you for your time and considering my "Technology and Beyond" project for funding.
