We will use this book as an in-class reading to learn about the Holocaust. The students will engage in literature circles and will improve their reading comprehension. This book will be a supplement to the Anne Frank play we will also read.
Students will be involved in creating various essays, websites, and other projects during our Holocaust unit. They will learn how hate and segregation can affect the world and their own lives. Additionally, they will be focused on characterization, plot, setting, and point of view from the CCSS for Florida. They will also understand the elements of drama.
