The Kore Wobble Chair allows students to move around without falling off their chairs. Students, who have difficulty sitting in typical classroom chairs, can move around and wiggle without disrupting the classroom.
Given the opportunity to move around in their seats allows those students, who have trouble concentrating, the ability to move while still remaining on task. These chairs will provide children with a better opportunity to complete more work and to stay focused for longer periods of time. Due to the increased amount of completed work, I believe students, who use Wobble Chairs, will also gain self confidence and have fewer behavior concerns.
I began looking into different types of seating last summer. I read several articles that detailed the benefits of offering various types of seating for students and became excited about applying this theory in my classroom. Currently, I have 6 stools and also 4 beach chairs available for my students to use. I decided to expand my chair variety to Wobble chairs because my students, who sit on the stools, often fall off because they are moving around on them so much.
