Our school is #1 in math in the city! We're #3 in reading. We want to be #1 in reading! This year, our goal is to create an improved "culture of literacy." We want our students to crave reading, writing and story telling. We want our students to request certain authors and illustrators from the library. We want our students to be researchers and know where and how to find quality information. The first step for us is by modeling. Our staff will create book reviews, book clubs, incorporate read alouds, host literacy night, continue using the 100 book challenge program and have story time during our lunch time.
