In my 8th grade history class, my students have been studying the events leading up to WWII and the Holocaust and are very interested in this particular topic. The book "Night" by Elie Wiesel will enhance our unit by allowing my students to connect with the author as he narrates the unfathomable events he experienced during the Holocaust.
I want to open my students minds and hearts regarding the Holocaust and show them that we can never forget these events that have changed our world. Having literature that illustrates this dark period in time will not only enrich their learning but also help them relate to an experience that can be best told by a Holocaust survivor.
