The students, most of whom will be first-generation college students come from low-income families and are lacking the money for supplies and need engaging activities in class.
The students will work in groups where they will create posters on the chart paper about the various topics that they will then write their essays about..
They will use the post-it notes to share comments on other groups' posters..
They will highlight parts of their essays using the different colors to show the different parts (for example-thesis statement in pink, topic sentence in yellow, etc.). These supplies will allow the students to work together and write better essays.
