The wobble chairs and stay and play balls will give my students the opportunity to engage in a learning environment that promotes student choice and flexibility. The wobble chairs allow students the opportunity to work diligently while also allowing their body to move without disrupting their work. The stay and play balls will allow my students the opportunity to engage in learning in a less than traditional setting. Students spend too much time seated in the classroom. Through flexible seating the students will be given the opportunity to make their learning experience more authentic to their personal needs as a learner.
This project will meet the needs of the diverse nature of my third grade classroom. Flexible seating will increase productivity in the classroom and will allow all students the opportunity for success. Student choice is directly linked to higher engagement, so this project will help students reach their true potential as lifelong learners.
