We are looking to test our soil, get worms to cultivate our soil, grow vegetables and supply the vegetables to our high school culinary class and cafeteria. They will pay us for the goods. We are looking for help paying for seeds, soil, and worms.
Hands-on activities allow all students to be involved regardless of their reading level. Students will be able to work with our FFA students who will assist us in setting up our garden. We have already started a compost pile and this is where we would like to use our worms. We would like to set up a soil testing area and help our worms become the most useful worms possible.
As we grow, we hope to be able to can some of our goods, sell pesto and teach others in our area how to create the same learning environment. In particular, we would like to be able to invite other special education programs to come and work with us and eventually set up similar gardens.
Your help will allow us to make our dream a reality. We have many of the tools and area to set all of this up we just need help with our final push.
