When I work with my ELL students, I pull them in small groups. Many of them are on different reading and English language levels. The kids practice their reading and language skills by listening, reading, and answering questions about stories they have read. They need a good set of headphones to be successful.
Many of my students only have money to buy headphones from the dollar store. Those headphones break easily and are not adequate enough to keep them from being distracted while others are reading.
With these headphones my students can listen and read stories on their own level without being distracted by other readers. Daily reading practice is especially important for my students who are working on their English Language skills.
