Students have spent a great deal of time looking at screens between remote learning and hybrid learning in the 2020-2021 school year. We want to expand our library makerspace to provide students with more hands on opportunities that don't require a device or a screen.
My project includes both materials for STEM bins, blocks for building, and STEM picture books for students. The STEM bins and blocks include hands on materials for students to make, build, and create. The picture books all have the STEM theme and will provide a literature aspect to the makerspace.
Students will be able to visit the makerspace both independently and with their class and will have many opportunities with these materials.
