All of my students are wonderful, but being the first year of restarting a gifted class has been especially exciting for me. The students are fantastic. They work hard and seem to enjoy each of the activities that we do and embrace the challenge. Their excitement is everything that I had hoped for and more. It is so gratifying to see them get excited about the different projects and then to go above and beyond in completing them. Many students have even stayed before or after school to help out or work on their projects.
Whether it be designing packages to protect eggs being dropped off of the building, creating video games, or turning the room into a rain forest, they have really shined this year and created a "buzz" for the new program. Also, I can try out many new ideas with them and get a better idea of how they might work with the regular education students. They are a joy to teach.
