I am so excited to be at Birney Elementary School in Long Beach! We are an incredibly diverse neighborhood school with a wonderful community of families. This year, I am teaching an amazing group of funny, enthusiastic, and silly second graders. My class is a "literacy" class, which means that all my students are struggling readers. Students' reading ability grows when they constantly interact with high-quality literature. However, my classroom library is pretty bare. My goal is to create a print-rich classroom where students can grow their love of reading, stories, and words!
