Throughout each day I seek to regularly integrate technology. If I’m granted this iPad I would use it daily for over two hours to support instruction in language arts and math rotations. My students would be able to engage in developmentally appropriate applications to enhance their number sense and literacy.
This project would significantly increase my students ability to develop foundational tech skills through the use of touch technology. Currently, we do not have touch technology accessible in any general education classroom in our school. My 2nd graders would be the first and they would provide a lens through which we can tangibly see the benefits.
Additionally, I'd also be able to utilize this iPad to make learning accessible to some of my students who are not able to write or perform regular 2nd grade tasks. Empowering them to be successful would help increase their morale and improve engagement with otherwise frustrated students.
