I am a school based occupational therapist. I support student's in Pre-K through grade 5 in our primary and intermediate schools.
We work to improve underlying motor deficits to strengthen student attention to task, self-regulation and visual motor skills. All students need strong postural muscles and endurance to position themselves for learning throughout the school day. All students need to be able to self-regulate their bodies when challenged to grow to the next level. All students need coordinated visual motor skills to recognize letters and numbers for reading and writing.
My role is to help students develop muscle strength and endurance, self-regulation skills and visual motor skills needed to participate in school related activities.
