Play is so valuable for both cognitive and social development. Play helps children learn basic literacy skills, social awareness, and creative problem solving. A developmentally appropriate environment encourages a child to play-to practice emerging skills, try out new ideas, and make new discoveries. With the items donated it will allow us to have a variety of materials to use in our dramatic play center. For example, the play condiments and seasoning set, waitress outfit, salad set and sandwich making set will be used to play restaurant with and help develop our literacy skills by creating menus, open/closed signs, order forms, etc . We will develop our social emotional skills by role playing, taking turns, working with others, etc. Play has such an important role in early childhood classrooms. We appreciate your help in providing us with materials to foster our development.
