My students will be working on the art of the argument and standing up for their beliefs. We will be reading about famous marches in history, examining essays on topics that we feel strongly about and searching the internet to find information on our chosen topic. To add interest and to bring the idea of protesting for what we believe in, we will be reading March by John Lewis.
Once we have gathered all our information and put together the argumentative essays. We are planning to march on city hall for out issues. John Lewis and his novel March will set the example and help my students join the ranks of adult citizens.
