We have three periods of Yoga during the school day and offer an after-school yoga class as well. Students use this time during the day to learn more about themselves, their bodies, and the history/practice of yoga! These mats will help students by providing alignment suggestions as they learn new poses. Most of our students have never practiced yoga before, so having mats like these will help scaffold their understanding, helping them feel confident with their practice! Once they feel confident in their practice, students can develop a home practice, or try out taking a yoga class within our community. Please help give this underrepresented group(in yoga) the opportunity to feel successful and proud of their body and yoga understanding! Oh and check out the student created poems in our classroom picture!
