At my high school, I teach Senior and Sophomore English classes as well as our state's program for future educators, called Teacher Cadets. All of my students are bright, creative, and compassionate young people - and I know that each one will make a positive difference in our community, and perhaps one day, our world.
As their teacher, it is my job to find what it is that motivates them to learn and grow. Sometimes we discuss current topics, and then I try to find text that is relevant; sometimes we read a piece of literature that inspires them, and then I try to find additional pieces for them to read. It is very encouraging to help mentor these young adults, and I am always impressed with their desire to know more!
