Students will be able to use the breakout boxes to actively engage in a collaborative learning experiences. Breakout Edu was developed as a gaming experience that educators can use to engage learners of all ages. It uses locks, invisible markers/UV flashlights, timers, safes, and locked boxes, along with storylines, puzzles, and codes. The latter three tools can be developed by teachers to integrate any content. There are also games that are shared and already developed on the Breakout Edu site and in various Breakout Edu user groups on social media. In the game, students are introduced to a problem that incites them to grapple with puzzles and challenges in order to unlock related locks. Students must work as a team in order to ultimately open the final lock and solve the game.
