By funding this project, you will allow each student in my classroom to read their own copy of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. Mythology is an essential basis for all students of literature, and this project will allow the students to experience their favorite gods come to life. Rick Riordan has created a mythological world which allows students to discover the Olympus gods as emotional beings - not just the untouchable 12 on high. My goal is to teach mythology in a fun, interactive setting, and build a foundation for future literary analysis.
