We use dry erase boards and markers every day. Because over 40 students use them on a daily basis, they are constantly being consumed and drying out. The look on their faces and the groans I hear when I have to tell them I have no more is awful. We need these colored markers because they use them everyday when reading and writing. They have to mark up words with syllable patterns, and spell words. The bright colors helps keep the students engaged.
Students who struggle with reading and spelling require novel approaches to keep them engaged. The dry erase markers in bright colors helps students see patterns in words, they are able to write syllables in different colors, allowing them to use their visual skills to assist them in conquering the very difficult task of reading and writing.
