The funds for this project will address the experiments my students complete as part of the 6th grade Nevada Academic Content Standards for science. Specifically these experiments will address the experiments conducted for the structure and property of matter, chemical reactions, forces and interactions, ecosystems, and weather and climate standards.
My students are excited to work collaboratively to problem solve science experiments. During COVID-19 distance learning they had to work on science at home for 18 months. They were limited to at home experiments with the supplies they had on hand. Now that we are in the classroom I can provide them with content rich experiments.
I also need my students to access videos to explain certain scientific processes. While they are using their Chromebooks, headphones will be helpful because they don't all watch the videos at the same time. The hot glue guns will be used during the assembly of diagrams. Specifically my students build models with cardboard. They need the glue guns to assemble these models.
