My students are in a low-income/high poverty neighborhood, faced with unthinkable challenges both inside and outside of the walls of school. Raised in single-parent or grandparent households, they receive free meals based on their socioeconomic status. Despite trauma and severe obstacles, and they wake up, try their best to be awesome, rest and repeat.
They learn in a STEM and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) classroom to boost their performance.
