I am a teacher-librarian working in a California inner-city Pre-K-5 elementary school. Our students are newcomers into this country coming from various Latin American countries. More than 90 percent of our students qualify for free or reduced lunches and/or are provided with after school childcare. Students come in excited to explore, create, read, and write here in the library media center. Our students receive both library and Computer Science weekly. Our current challenge is to provide more appropriate devices for my Pre-school, T-K and special needs students and Spanish primary sources.
