Many students have trouble sitting in their desks for 90 minutes due to undiagnosed disabilities and their inexperience in a school setting. While these new seating options themselves will not teach the students the content, they will provide them with the option to feel comfortable in the classroom. This environment will promote engagement and allow for students to feel comfortable answering questions and speaking in front of other students. Allowing students to choose their own seats really motivates the students to succeed and even cuts down on behavioral issues. The students know you are taking a chance on them and they want to make sure they make you proud.

About my class
