My class is made up of many multicultural students whose families are from all around the world! Most of my current picture books have characters who do not represent my students and their cultures. I would love to integrate books that have characters my students can relate to and think, "Wow! That looks like me!" I also want my students to see and learn about people and lives that are different from theirs and to learn respect for all. Diversity gives us strength. Let's celebrate how wonderful it is to be different!
