Most of my students do not have comfortable home environments. They share beds and bedrooms with family, some are homeless living with friends, and many have minimal furniture in their homes. Providing a comfortable learning environment for my students, with the use of flexible seating, such as wobble chairs, comfy cushions, and ball seats will not only give them the chance to sit where they are most comfortable, but it will also provide a space where they feel "at home" while learning. Something as simple as a pillow on the floor will provide excitement to read, or the dedication to complete an assignment. I want my classroom to be a safe and inviting space for my students.
