The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." The students come to with no school supplies and often have to share class books because we don't have complete book sets. We can't teach our students how to envision the possibilities when we don't have what they need. I want to give our students the same opportunities that other schools have.
The school supplies provided: pencils, pens, paper, and folders will help my students be prepared for everyday learning. There are also book sets (Things fall apart, The Giver, and Speak) that I feel our students can relate to and enjoy as classroom novel.
