My high school students are begging for mirrors and windows. They need to read pieces that mirror their lives as well as "windexing" the window to another world! Please help expand our classroom novels and nonfiction collection with the requested books and bean bag chairs.
I am asking for seating that has been found to create comfort in bodies of the students, which in turn creates comfort in reading, and I am also asking for novels and books that they have suggested to me. There is a huge push in the younger grades for student choice in reading, and I believe that it shouldn't stop in high school grades. My goal is to give my students those "choice" books that they are asking for.
