My classroom looks very similar to a typical preschool class! It's bright, its fun, cozy and inviting. My little learners are who make my class unique. I teach 3-5 year old's who have been diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). We do not have a standardized curriculum, instead each child's program is driven from their Individualized Education Program. No two student's programs look the same and each are designed to fit the student's unique learning needs. We like to think of our program as the foundation to their future. My students do not learn the same way as their nuero-typical peers. We take communication, social skills, fine motor, gross motor, self-help and pre-academic skills and break them down in to smaller parts. Within these smaller parts we teach skills 1 step at at time. Our learning is fast paced, intense and incorporates several Evidence Based Practices proven effective for children with Autism
