Students will learn to love and enjoy independent reading when they have access to current and popular books at their reading level. I plan on reading the first book in each series to the class. The remainder of the books will then be "released" on certain dates for students to continue to read independently. The goal of this is to create hype around the books so that the students will want to read them.I have a special display in the room for these books so that students can see them and get excited for each release date. I chose popular books on purpose that students have heard of but may not have access to.
