These books will help our families begin building home libraries! Research shows that kids who have books in their homes tend to like school more, be better readers and writers, and score higher on state assessments than kids who do not have home libraries. We'd like to give each child who comes to Family Literacy Night one book to take home!
This will be the start of their home libraries! As the year continues, we'll help students add to their libraries through another project started by a retired couple who contacted us about donating books to our students. Thank you!
