I would like to be able to provide my students with a sensory hallway in their school. Due to increasing academic demands, many of our students struggle to be able to keep it all together. The sensory hallway will allow students the opportunity to have an organized whole body-brain break. The decals that have been requested as part of this Donor's Choose Project will be utilized to develop a thoughtful movement break for my students.
The goal is that by having students participate in various gross motor movement activities it will, in turn, allow them to adjust their attention and focus to classroom academics. Some students have the ability to organize their sensory systems independently to maintain focus in the classroom. While other students benefit from movement-based brain breaks to help them organize their sensory systems allowing for sustained attention.
