My students come from both the local community, as well as other areas of the county for our specialized Performing and Visual Arts (PVA) Program. As a title I school in Maryland, many of my students qualify for free and reduced meals--meaning that many of their families don't have household incomes that can support extra needs and costs often associated with school. Additionally, as PVA students, their creative minds require artistic stimulation through a positive and welcoming environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and creativity. As future writers, authors, poets, musicians, dancers, artists, and learners, my students need access to things like paper, composition notebooks, art materials, and pencils so all of their ideas can truly come to life. Additionally, these unique students deserve a classroom environment they can call their own, within which they feel comfortable learning and creating.

About my class
