My students need premium art supplies such as Prismacolor brand colored and drawing pencils as well as Sharpies. Their work will go from creating basic, chalky, textured looking faces to realistic looking portraits that will have smooth well blended colors. Often my students will buy Crayola colored pencils and just a number 2 regular pencil and the colors are not as vibrant and easy to work with. Most do not know what a gum eraser is and they do not realize that drawing pencils are numbered.
The materials I am requesting are needed to improve their drawing and coloring skills by letting them experience the sleekness and smooth glide of Prismacolor and the rich sleek lines of Sharpies. They also need proper drawing pencils to help with their shading and value as well as pencil sharpeners and gum erasers. These supplies would stay in my classroom so that all the students can use them.
