With the access to thousands of books at different reading levels, topics, genres, and languages, we want to keep our 10 Kindle Fire Tablets safe and sound for a very long time. This project is for Kindle Fire Protective Cases. These Kindles will help make it easier for students to have access to quality books at their reading level and within their reading interest. Students will be using these Kindles during independent reading and during small group for guided reading. We will be using engaging reading apps like Reading A-to-Z, Epic!, and TumbleBooks. They will also be able use the OverDrive App to access the Chicago Public Library online eBook/Audiobooks database. In this app, they will access the thousands of eBooks and Audiobooks the city has to offer.
Our students will combine their love for learning, technology, and reading with these protected Kindle Fires. Students can practice their technology skills of reading texts on a screen, and will have the ability to listen to audiobooks to improve on fluency and comprehension. Since we do not have a school library, our kids are limited to our classroom libraries. Having these Kindles will give the students access to books that we do not have available in our classroom. These Kindles will also be a great resource for online research to prepare them for projects or argumentative/persuasive essays!
Overall, the Kindle Fires will embrace their love of escaping to the imaginative worlds that books bring.
