My current art budget allows for basic supplies such as paper, pencils, markers and tempera paint. While they love to paint and create other two-dimensional art projects, I want them to experience so much more. I have exceeded my personal givings, as most teachers do, so I reach out to you. By experiencing clay in the art room, it will offer my students a better understanding of the three-dimensional world. The students will be able to grasp form, space and perspective more easily. Clay is a fun and forgiving art medium. I know the students will find success as they build on their motorskills, confidence, problem-solving abilities, and self-expression. Furthermore, clay has many therapeutic qualities that would benefit many students. Completed projects will be displayed in the school and community. However, I know that my students will be begging to take them home as soon as possible.
