My classroom is AMAZING! My students are all so unique and I love them with all my heart. Every teacher tells their students that they are "their kids" throughout the year and beyond, but sometimes your students don't get it until something BIG happens; something that makes them want to bond together and lift each other up. I teach in a K-5 Title 1 building, with roughly 60% of our students receiving free/reduced lunches. For the last ten years, my students have gotten to be each others family away from home - they spend so much of their time together and I feel as if it is my duty to make them feel safe, special and accepted in our classroom. My students know that I strive to treat them all fair; differentiating to suit my students needs and making them communicate with each other when something is going awry.
