STEM and Social-Emotional Learning may seem like they are on two opposite sides of the spectrum. The former focuses on Science, Tech, Engineering and Math, while the latter focuses on developing skills need to cope in our world. However, I believe both of these need to be incorporated daily in the classroom because both will open up a world of possibilities for ALL students despite their various and unique abilities.
Living, working and playing in a technologically advanced, yet socially demanding and emotionally challenging world is our reality. I believe students need to know how to think outside of the box, while also understanding how the world works, both physically, socially and emotionally. I want to begin to prepare my students to be productive citizens of our planet and know how to navigate any challenges that they may face!
About my class
