My students learn about the animal Kingdom. Having an aquarium would allow students to see freshwater vertebrates and invertebrates living in the same environment. This will allow the students to be able to identify and discuss the characteristics that allow these organisms to thrive in their environments and see how the animals interact with each other. The students will also learn how to care for the animals in the freshwater environment. Having freshwater organisms within the classroom would allow more than ninety students each year to see and experience these organisms up close and personal. This will also hopefully spark interest in future learning and career paths dealing with living organisms.
