I had the opportunity to work with KANO computers during a STEM camp this summer for elementary students. The program guides students through the necessary steps to develop understanding of coding, then allows them to use problem solving skills and creativity to grow to near unlimited abilities. KANO computers have several different programs that are high interest for elementary age students. The KANO computers coast $150 each and I will purchase 4. I will not only use them in my classroom, but involve the students from the other two 5th grade classrooms. I would also like to include the 4th grade students when possible. That means over 125 students will have access to the computers. It is my belief that this program will develop life long skills will help not only in their current studies, but for a life time. It will also give them the skills that employers are looking for today. Those skills include; problem solving, creativity, working in small groups, coding, math, writing, art, music and video.
